Louisiana looks like the target area for the largest rain and wind impact from Tropical Storm Barry, and possibly Hurricane Barry before landfall. Remember that storm impact also extends hundreds of miles away from the center so Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida will still get rain that could be heavy. Deadly rip currents will form. There could also be an increasing tornado threat.

The risk of storm surge is growing on the Mississippi coast and the southeastern coast of Louisiana.
