The coachman's song "Troika rushes, troika gallops" (or just "Troika") performed by Yevgeny Belyaev (tenor), the People's Artist of the Soviet Union and the soloist of the Twice Red Banner Song and Dance Ensemble of the Soviet Army named after A.V. Alexandrov, accompanied by the Russian instruments quintet of the Alexandrov Ensemble.
The composer is Pavel Petrovich Bulakhov. The lyrics were written by the poet Prince Pyotr Andreyevich Vyazemsky in 1832.

This song is from the series of the coachmen's songs which were very popular in Russia before the revolution. According to some reports, more than a hundred of them were written. The poem of this particular song was written by Prince Pyotr Andreevich Vyazemsky, a nobleman and a friend of the famous Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. It was first published in 1832 or in 1834. Initially, the poem was called “Another Troika” and was created as an answer to another poem written by Fyodor Glinka called “Troika” (“Here’s the mail Troika rushing”), also about coachmen. One can say that it was sort of a battle between the famous poets of that time.
There were several composers who wrote the music for this poem. Among them were: in 1857 - A. Dubyuk, in 1865 - Pavel Bulakhov, in 1876 - A. Katenin, in 1913 - P. Karasev. But it's so happened that the most popular among the people was the melody created by the composer Pavel Petrovich Bulakhov, who was also the famous singer of the St. Petersburg imperial troupe during those times.
