Ukrainian folk song of the Sich Riflemen "You hear, my brother (The Cranes)" performed by Alexey Sergeev (bass) and the Alexandrov Red Army Choir.

This is a clip from the musical movie "When soldiers sing" about Boris Alexandrov and the Alexandrov Red Army Choir, 1975.
The cranes were associated with the Polish rebels who had risen to fight against foreign oppression in November 1830, as well as the disadvantaged Ukrainians who had to flee their native land.
The poetry "You See, My Brother" was first published in October 1912 in the Lviv literary and art magazine "Nedelya". And in 1915, in Vienna, Bohdan Lepky published a collection of works dedicated to Ukrainian Sich riflemen, where on the page 11 contains the lyrics and melody of the song "You Hear, My Brother", and below the song is a picture with a killed shooter. Already in this collection, in some cases, the Sich riflemen sing this song over their murdered comrade, "You see, my brother," and in others, "You hear, my brother."
