This student-made game was created in Fall 2022 by students in Cohort 32, as part of SMU Guildhall's Team Game Production I curriculum.
Trickochet is a top-down puzzle game in which the player controls Pancho, a quick-shooting gunslinger, in a quixotic adventure where he faces off against a gang of sentient bottles and cacti, while protecting his own cactus friend, Sancho. Player’s aim to ricochet a limited number o? f bullets using a wide array of “ricochet-able” objects, such as metallic tables, longhorn skulls, and brick walls. In each level, the player’s goal is to eliminate all the enemies and gain a high score based off the number of ricochets, the number of enemies killed, and the number of stars picked up.
Trickochet hooks players with its simple puzzle-based gameplay. Players are encouraged to play again and again to try to execute the lucky “Trickochet”- the one shot, perfect shot that will kill all the enemies in a level. Players are encouraged to clear a level with as few bullets as possible, while still providing plenty of challenge with moving barriers, enemies that require more than one hit to eliminate, and non-interactive objects and barriers that will stop bullets dead in their tracks.
After being ambushed by the mob of Bottle Bandidos while in the midst of a card game with his friend Sancho, Pancho emerges guns blazing, ready to shatter any bottle or wilt any cactus who looks his way. With only six bullets in his chamber and a gang hot on his trail, he must make every shot count if he and Sancho want to escape in one piece.
