Traveling with TMJ/TMD? The summer months mean a bit more traveling and activities! Here's what to do and what to skip. 🧳✈️
TMJ flare-ups don't always have to follow you on your trip. Here's your jaw-friendly travel guide:
❌ What NOT to do:
∙ Skip packing your Orthotic
∙ Eat hard, crunchy, or chewy foods on the go
∙ Hunch over your phone or laptop for hours
∙ Chew gum to pass the time
∙ Overpack your schedule and skip rest time
∙ Let dehydration sneak up on you
✅ What TO do:
∙ Bring your neck pillow, Orthotic + heat/cold packs
∙ Choose and prep soft, easy-to-chew foods/snacks
∙ Keep your head stacked over your shoulders and use neck support
∙ Stand, stretch, and move whenever you can
∙ Build rest into your itinerary
∙ Stay hydrated and practice deep breathing
Your jaw works hard every day, give it a little extra support when you travel 🙏
