Hello, welcome back to another video! For this week's train trip report, we will be taking a look at the brand-new Class 397 electric units in operation with TransPennine Express.

These trains were built by CAF in Spain, as part of their Civity family, making them closely related to the Class 195 and Class 331 units in service with Northern. This fleet operates on the train services between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Manchester Airport, via Carlisle, Preston, Bolton, and Manchester Piccadilly.

At the time of filming, these units were in service for a little over a month, so I took advantage of their limited service to try them out, and was pleasantly surprised with what I found.
