Germanium transistor technology is a bit outdated but still has some appeal to guitarists. In this upload, the hoofbag discusses some of the interesting 1960s development of these transistors that were used in radios and other domestic equipment. Apologies for the rubbish guitaring and a bit of "singing" but there wasn't a proper guitarist available to perform the demonstration. In a follow up submission, details of a simple, albeit expensive, design that a viewer might wish to attempt. Hope the viewer enjoys!
