With the introduction of the Aurora supercomputer and the upcoming upgrade of the Advanced Photon Source (APS), Argonne is undergoing a transformation.

With these new research tools, scientists will be able to uncover the secrets of new materials, see the evolution of the universe, map the human brain, and create new breakthroughs.

In this video, Argonne data scientist Rafael Vescovi discusses how Aurora’s capabilities in artificial intelligence will help researchers automate certain aspects of the scientific process. After researchers collect data at facilities like the APS, the system will automatically process that information and help make decisions to guide future experiments. This process of autonomous discovery will allow researchers to make pivotal discoveries fast than ever before.
