Time lapse recording (24x) of a bee moving through an arena in a thermal gradient. The area of its preferred temperature of 36° C (97° F) is located towards the left while the coldest spot (34,5° C, 94° F) is at the right side. The thermal gradient is visualized by the false color representation overlay with yellow representing the preferred temperature. Obviously, the bee is unable to find the area of preferred temperature and keeps performing a RANDOM WALK throughout the 20 min of the recording.
