A trainspotting video from different locations with freight trains towards or from Aurubis factory. Due to the major overhaul of the longest railway tunnel in Bulgaria - Koznitsa (5808 m), the railway movement through the tunnel was completely stopped for more than 6 months. The trains from port of Burgas and eastern Bulgaria towards the Aurubis factory in Pirdop were diverted through Plovdiv and Sofia, so their route became much longer than the usual through the Sub-Balkan railway line.
That was perfect for the trainspotters, because there were a lot of traffic on the main line from Sofia and Plovdiv during the spring and the summer of 2020. The trains from or to Aurubis factory usually are very heavy (carrying copper concentrate from the port of Burgas or sulfuric acid from the factory towards Burgas) and are hauled by the most powerful electric locomotives of BDZ Cargo - class 46 (LE 5100 / 060EA). Despite their great power of 5100 kW, due to the heavier longitudinal profile of the railway line Sofia - Plovdiv, the 46's needs some help which came from the tireless locomotives class 43.
