↡ Home Workout for Climbing ↡
Coronavirus COVID-19 is making making at the climbing wall or gym less and less feasible. I think home exercise and trying to workout is paramount for staying healthy in your mind and body, especially for people who regularly go climbing and bouldering.
It looks like most of us will have to self-isolate at some point, simply to slow down the spread of the disease. But, if you’re not ill, you probably want to stay fit and keep training.
There’s a big variety of ‘no equipment’ workout information online, but it’s a lot to take in at once. Instead, I asked Paddy to help focus my home training over the next few weeks with the aim to keep working out during coronavirus COVID-19 self-isolation.
This video is kind of a starting point for any climbers who are starting the home workout journey, or who would like a training focus during the coronavirus quarantine.
I’ll be hangboarding regularly as part of my home training, but I’ll have a lot of time on my hands to work on my weaknesses too. I'm hoping to use the next few weeks to improve my stretching and mobility, while also developing strength in areas like hips, shoulders and core.
It’s helpful to put a positive spin on the upcoming self-isolation and quarantine by switching up your focus - much like athletes do during their off-season.
