If you clawshot on the very far edge of a set of vines you'll get a grab like this rather than being able to climb them.
The easiest backup is to clawshot near the edge of the grill in the ceiling and jumpslash down.
It's also possible to clawshot along the black cross in the grill and drop straight down as it aligns with the fan below it, but it's surprisingly picky.
