Stop-Motion Transformation of Touch Toys HQ-9BE Hellbird. Crazy intricate. It even has actual shocks on the wheel pairs. I’ve heard these TouchToys figures are designed by the infamous “Black Apple” and I can believe it. Always interesting to have an unusual alt mode, in this case it’s a Chinese surface-to-air missile truck. I like how the lower legs manage to extend and spread apart with only single diagonal zigzag joints.
The main trick with the shoulder plates is to rotate them when they can have clearance. You do NOT need to rotate where the gray mount attaches to the shoulder plate - that rotation is only for tweaking the shoulders a bit for aesthetics. My best method for getting the sides loose is as shown since there is a tab all the way near the front that has to come loose. It can be tricky to get the wheel area to tab properly going back to truck mode so be patient. Getting those waist tabs loose (that form a girdle around his waist) can be tricky - I push in on the door parts of the assembly and use a tool to pop the front parts out of the sockets. You have to rotate the sockets as shown to get them to align, but you should consider rotating them around a bit for truck mode so they kind of wrap around those silver painted pistons.
I do recommend various tools to perform some of these transformation steps. The head mounting plate can become VERY firmly tabbed in robot mode and I find I need pliers to pop it loose without doing something crazy like pulling on the head. Mostly I use a set of nail clippers primarily for the nice smooth and rounded lever handle (for prying) and I also use a dental scraper (you can get them in a kit along with the little mirror and a rubbery tool in the dental section of your local super-mart) SUPER handy tool. Oh and I found tweezers handy for those extremely annoying L-shaped metal bars that form the knee pistons you have to plug in. Kind of an unnecessary extra step, IMHO.

Production Note: Difficult but not too bad. Touch Toys has the best manuals I have ever experienced. They make sure to show you the before picture, the move, and the after picture for every move. Their sequencing is serviceable but I have my own approach.
