Most industrial robots need programming from a robot integrator. This can put the cost of a robot beyond the reach of the average user. With the ZA6 Robot, Tormach intends to create an industrial robot that is so easy to program that an integrator will not be necessary. You still have that option of course, but through our videos, the ZA6 robot forum, and the Tormach GitHub pages, an owner may find themselves very comfortable programming the robot on their own.
To help the ease of use, the PathPilot interface will be familiar to any users of our other machines, as the robot edition works similarly to the mill and lathe version. Underneath PathPilot is the robust ROS motion control framework. Tormach has also chosen Python as the programming language to add capabilities beyond what a typical robot can perform.
