Calgary is the biggest city in the Canadian prairie province of Alberta, and the metro population is a bit over 1.6 million people. Calgary is one of the safest, cleanest and most beautiful cities in the country and it offers incredible views of the Rocky Mountains. Calgary is home to the annual world famous Calgary stampede and still retains a fair of cowboy culture throughout the city. Calgary has strong sports teams and has even played host to the Winter Olympics in 1988. Alberta's biggest city is also relatively cosmopolitan with a vibrant downtown core and many addition neighborhoods that are very interesting and walkable. If you haven't been to Calgary yet, consider visiting and see why it is one the fastest growing cities in Canada!
