From the Jazz Repertory Company’s EFG London Jazz Festival concert 1956: A Jazz Jubilee. Georgina Jackson sings Ella Fitzgerald sings Cole Porter. One of the songs from Ella’s 1956 album The Cole Porter Songbook, Too Darn Hot is the second half opener of the 1948 musical Kiss Me Kate. The arrangement sounds like classic Nelson Riddle but is by Buddy Bregman and here it’s performed by the Pete Long Orchestra.
