Creative Cat Productions | Tommy Lasorda Baseball was the best US launch title on the SEGA Genesis @creativecatproductions | Uploaded January 2021 | Updated October 2024, 1 day ago.
In the fall of 1989 the SEGA Genesis launched across the United States of America. If I’m being honest with myself, the original 6 game line up was pretty mediocre (until Ghouls N Ghosts and Golden Axe were released later in the year).....however, there was one game that really turned out to be a stand out title.....at least for me and my teenaged brother. It was Tommy Lasorda Baseball, the westernized version of SEGA’s Japanese arcade game, Super League.
Tommy Lasorda had little to do with the legendary baseball coach, who recently passed away (and inspired the making of this video), and it did virtually nothing NEW for baseball videogames. But it was still a complete package with good graphics, great music and sound effects, and deep, yet easy to learn play mechanic. In the first years of the SEGA Genesis, it would be one my main go-to games, especially with friends, and therefore it has earned a special place in heart.
Thanks for watching!
