This is a "Today in Music History" segment that had been brought to you originally by Sun Country Wine Coolers, but I edited that bit out. The date it aired (July 16th, 1985) is also the date of Harry Chapin's death, four years earlier. The singer-songwriter was killed on the Long Island Expressway while driving to Eisenhower Park in East Meadow to perform at a free benefit concert. I believe he was struck by a Pathmark semi near Jericho, where the supermarket chain's first "Super Center" had opened in 1977.
