In this home video history I cover the surprisingly few editions of the masterpiece TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA (1985). From the MGM DVD onwards there have been levels of modernized tweaks applied at William Friedkin's behest which is common to physical media releases. Unfortunately there is no perfect release of the film. The Kino UHD has many flaws plus defective audio. The best audio presentation is the original Dolby Stereo mix which is best on the rare Image reissue digital sound Laserdisc.
