This is one of the first full videos that i've made in quite a long time! And quite a lengthy one it is :o
I made this as a gift for my dear girlfriend, i knew i wanted to dedicate something like this to her c:
I wasn't originally sure how motivated I may be to add clips or sound effects, I set a few down in April i think, before coming back to this and eventually finishing it in September. By that point i was motivated both by spontaneous inspiration and time pressure.
I set the clips thinking about the perspective of both the villains and the heroes, but focus on telling the song through the perspective of the villains. And have some kind of light narrative that the video follows, i.e. the pre-chorus has its own layers of tension, and then the chorus shows destruction, sorrow, and contempt. I also wanted the clips and the flow to be dynamic and intense.
The sound effects add to the intensity, i feel. There were points where i was setting the clips and i could already hear their own audio playing over the song, so i chose to overlay the audio; not quite the same approach i've taken before in the past, but i think the result is still slightly natural or fitting.
I chose to not use a coloring (minus sharpening and b&w) for this video to emphasize the clips and the emotions they give off.
Last year it was quite difficult for me to start to or continue to edit a project that I've already started. But i've found that, if something resonates with me, i'm able to finish it eventually. It may take longer, but I can still do it. I'm more-so leaning towards wanting to experiment with other creative fields to see how i can incorporate them into my work; I'll keep my ideas for those a surprise for now!

Found some more new effects today, as well as this _very nice_ motion and decided to try these things out ^^
Im quite happy that I have different kinds of shaders now ^^ At least I found some that work well for this model, as well as others ^^

This ones a little new for me~
I cant recall if Ive ever made an edit with a story (in general?), especially one that i write and then base the edit off of owo
This idea came to me simply when I was deciding what to do the next day, so Im not left p much bored throughout the day. And suddenly, the thought of writing a story edit about Killua made me excited, and slowly it turned into a Killugon idea, and here we are :3
Its likely that I was inspired to make a story edit by both Mia Hikari and KaibaShadow :O I loved Mias Arcade story edit, and I loved how much I was able to immerse myself into the story as I was watching, and I know that KaibaShadow loves making story edits in general :3
It took some time to find the sketches by one of the hxh animators, that I was looking for, and a couple parts of the video were some trial and error in terms of giving them a logical flow that goes with the story and also the lyrics in a way, but I managed!
I seem to be vibing with simple editing when it comes to longer videos like this one. I wanted the scenes to be understandable tho~
And I was making this, I could swear that I was adding some kind of symbolism into the effects that I wasnt fully aware of XD
One thing that was just something I did to differentiate clips - I made the visions and scenes that Killua sees in his head look more soft and dreamy ^^
I kinda increased the intensity of effects and changed them up as the video progressed, and all I know is that when I added them I was like this is supposed to mean something XD Take that as you will, maybe XD Maybe the changes can be seen as an increase an emotion in that sense, but I really dont know ^^
Right then, theres a little more I wanted to say about the effects, but the desc limit is angry, so I shall end this off owo

Story:
Another day had passed, spending time together with Gon, and Killua found himself wide awake when he should be asleep. His best friend had long-since fallen asleep near him. Peacefully, and without any second thoughts. Meanwhile, Killua stared up at the ceiling, at nothing in particular, not being able to get the moments of true happiness that he had felt around the dark haired boy, out of his head. And not just that - he remembered the sad moments, the more intense moments, and simply the moments when he could be together with him, with a smile on his face or watch Gon relish in his own happiness. All he knew is that he had fun around him, and wanted to stay by his side, but another aspect felt missing. Killua couldnt quite pin it down, nor really understand what it is that he might be feeling. Before he knew it, the only thing on his mind was Gon, and the thought of simply being close to him, maybe even being able to hold his hand. By this point, the white haired boys face was flushing bright red, and he could barely keep his composure. He was only glad that Gon wasnt awake to see this, but he still couldnt stand that he was blushing so much. From here, something occurred to him - if he were to tell Gon about this, how would he react? Would he reject these feelings that he seems to be feeling, would he push him away? That was one of the things he feared most. This anxiety dug into him, even more so not allowing him to sleep, but he decided to think more about this tomorrow.
The next day, as the two were out and about, Killua finally, while Gon wasnt fully paying attention, worked up the confidence to speak about the way hed been feeling, and this feeling of wanting to be close to him. Killua was nearly in shambles as he confessed, and tears already started to flow down his cheeks - he was much too scared of what would happen next. However, to his shock, once Gon turned around to face him, he reached out a finger to him. Quickly taking his pinky finger into a pinky promise. The dark haired boy smiled, telling him that he accepts his feelings, and that if he ever wants to sometime, its okay if he holds his hand or holds him close. Killua felt a moment of shock, before, in tears, beginning to smile. Needless to say, he felt relieved that the situation turned out this way. He shakily took his best friends hand to bring it up to his cheek, wiping his tears. In this moment, he understood - the emotion he might be feeling is, love. And, as if flowing into him like a gentle stream in a river, he felt this next thought come to him so naturally, as he looked at his smiling friend - Even when we fade away eventually to nothing, you will always be my favorite form of loving.
I suppose we can imagine that Killua is the one getting his tears wiped at 0:49 ^^
