Dr. Alicia Plemmons shares some tips and tricks for successfully teaching university courses online, including how to approach course design and format, how to be realistic with your expectations for students, how to stay organized, and other best practices.
Online teaching of university courses has expanded tremendously as a result of the 2020 pandemic, yet many professors have still received no training on how to teach online successfully. This presentation from Dr. Plemmons was given as part of a teaching workshop for faculty and advanced graduate students, to help them become more comfortable teaching online.
Dr. Alicia Plemmons is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics & Finance, and the CAS Undergraduate Economics Program Director, at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She's also a Research Affiliate of the Knee Center for the Study of Occupational Regulation at Saint Francis University, and the co-founder and leader of the Medical Licensure and Scope of Practice Research Group hosted out of the Arkansas Center for Research in Economics at the University of Central Arkansas.
