So here's another deep cut from my childhood, it's Tintin in Tibet on SNES! Tintin is another comic book character and widely popular in Europe just like Asterix & Obelix and he's a reporter that goes on many different adventures around the world. He has a strong bond with his dog Snowy and Captain Haddock is one of his best friends that usually travels with him as well. All the characters are written in a really likable way and I really enjoyed reading all the books and watching the TV show and stuff! In this particular story, Tintin has dreams about a good friend he made in an earlier book named Tchang surviving a plane crash. The next morning, he receives word that Tchang was supposed to visit him but that the plane he was on crashed and there were no survivors. He strongly believes the dream wasn't a coincidence and is convinced that his friend is still alive so he sets off and tries to find him! It's a really touching story and shows how strong of a character Tintin is. Now the game that I'm playing music from is obviously an adaption of that story but in video game form and it's probably one of the most difficult games of my childhood haha. It's very trial and error heavy and a lot of things hurt you so yeah, it's one of those games that you really have to put time into and learn the lay out of the levels while you play. I was able to beat it as a kid but boy, it wasn't easy haha. The graphics are excellent and really capture that feel of the comics and the music is great stuff and super nostalgic for me to listen to so I'm so happy I was able to record some of it! Unfortunately, during transcribing, I found out that the songs are really out of tune (like almost a quarter step) so I had a lot of trouble deciding what notes are being played. At some point, I decided to use my DAW and a pitch shifter to get it in decent tuning. Especially the basslines were tough to determine because of it but I think I got it pretty right in the end hopefully. Anyway, I'm glad I played music from another comic book game of my childhood and I hope you'll enjoy my Guitar Medley of Tintin in Tibet!
