Today, Tim has invited his old friend Gerard Darby into the studio. Gerard has brought some fun items from his collection to share with Tim!
Tim has a favourite drinking glass which he uses every day. It has been made from a Coca-Cola bottle. Once you have drunk the contents, most people would - hopefully - recycle the empty glass bottle. However, the bottle is an iconic design classic (see youtube.com/watch?v=Slskq_QWdis ) and some people have seen an intriguing way of upcycling the empty bottle. Namely, carefully cut off the top, smooth the edges, and lo and behold - you have a funky drinking glass. Tim says he drinks tonic water most days using his Coca-Cola glass - plenty of fizz in Tim's life still!
A wine glass made from an empty wine bottle, and even a vase - also made from a wine bottle!
Next, a 'shot' glass - which has a revolver built into it. A nice play on words!
A glass that will spin on the table...
And finally, The Pessimist's Mug, which has a line half way down, labelled 'this glass is now half empty'. Oh dear...
