Tim has had a long and interesting history with golf and golf balls...
Back in the 1950s, Tim's parents moved to a house on an island in the Thames. They actually bought the property from William Hartnell, the first actor to play Dr Who! The family created a 9 hole putting golf course on the lawn, and of course from time to time a golf ball would end up in the river. Golf balls sink, so when Tim visited the New York Toy Fair for the first time in 1992, he was very excited to discover floating golf balls! He immediately bought some to add to his collection, and also for using on the family putting course! Now, when a ball ended up in the river, it could often be fished out again with a small net on the end of a bamboo cane. Since then, he has found all kinds of unusual golf balls, a few of which he showcases here...
