A strange device - not a music instrument, but an unusual whisk for use in the kitchen!
Today's toys are from a 2006 case. Tim had forgotten about some of the toys in this case, so it was a little voyage of discovery for him too!
A clear plastic ball with a number of small ball bearings inside. A kind of executive toy - give the ball a circular movement and then place it on the little plastic base, and watch the ball bearings whizz round like tiny planets.
A bird that can fly through a pane of glass! In fact, the bird consists of two parts which are magnetic. Pop one on each side of a pane of glass and they will attract each other and stay in place. Just as if the bird is flying through the pane of glass!
A lenticular image of planet earth. When you tilt the picture too and fro, it looks as if it is a three dimensional glass ball with the continents on the surface, and the whole thing seems to be rotating!
Astrology greeting cards with a small vinyl record inside. Open up the card, and fold the flap with the needle into position, so the needle touches the record. Place your finger on the record and turn it clockwise. Maybe you will meet a tall dark stranger!
A walking robot that is also a pencil sharpener - an unusual combination of ideas!
A collection of coloured plastic balls, with the colours all mixed up. Turn the device the other way up and gently shake it, and as the plastic balls fall through the internal plastic sieves - all of which have different size holes in them - they get sorted out apparently based on their colour. Whereas in fact it is their different size that is being sorted.
