On International Human Rights Day (December 10) in 1989, the Dalai Lama, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to bring peace and harmony into the world. Each year Tibetan refugees living in Nepal celebrate the anniversary of the honor that was bestowed on their spiritual leader. On December 10, 2010, residents of Tashiling Tibetan refugee settlement in Pokhara, Nepal celebrated by gathering at the community center, sharing a meal hosted by the community, and enjoying games and contests with their friends and neighbors.
