Mario's Journal:
Day 12
The only places on this island were two palaces. There was a red one and a blue one. We decided to split up and check both of them out to see if any of them had a switch that created a bridge or a pipe.
I went to the red palace. This was the Palace of Fire. I learned about it from the genie who lived there. He seemed...awfully forgetful though. He disappeared after a bit. All that was left in the room was an orb with a glowing fire inside of it. I'm not sure what compelled me to put my hands on it, but I did. It was warm, but then suddenly became red hot! After I removed my hands, they were still tingling.
The genie returned and told me that I had gained an ability called the Firebrand. Basically, I can summon fire from my fingertips. This will definitely come in handy!
I went back to the shore to meet up with Luigi. It turns out the palace he went to was the Thunder Palace. There he also met with a genie and gained the Thunderhand ability. He can summon lightning in his hands! It's pretty cool! What's interesting is we were able to use both abilities to summon a bridge to a nearby pipe.
The pipe led us into the ocean, but we were able to swim through it and find another pipe. This one led to an area near Beanbean Castle Town. Peasley was there to greet us. He had been searching for us for a while now and was relieved to see us. I told him about what happened with the Bean Star. Peasley seemed...too calm. The only time he looked mildly surprised was hearing that the Bean Star split into pieces (which Luigi saw as he was falling).
Luigi told Peasley we'd help him look for the Bean Star pieces. Peasley appreciates that, but he wants us to go to the Beanbean airport to meet up with Peach. Peach has decided to visit the Beanbean Kingdom. I...I'm not sure that's a good idea considering her condition. I want to see her again, but her voice is still gone...
