Wow, this game sucks...

As there are NO VIDEOS of the first Thunder Force game on YouTube, I basically decided to record a little bit of footage of the game just to show you how it looks like.

The main objective of the game is to destroy a specific number of red lights (called "Shield Base" in the game) which can only be found by destroying specific ground enemies. Once you destroy all these, the game sends you to the boss. Once you destroy it, you go to the next stage. You think it sounds easy? It's not.

This ain't Thunder Force II, my friends! The scrolling is jerky, the controls are unresponsive, the weaponry is puny and it's very difficult to avoid the enemy bullets. Not to mention that the bullets also camouflage with the background (and that's the main reasion I died right when the stage begun); wouldn't it be a good idea if they chose a different color scheme?

Graphics are OK, considering that it's from 1985. But the music, oh... my... god.
It's a horrible rendition of William Tell Overture's Finale.
I don't know if the music loops through the entire game, you know why? Because I played this game multiple times and I still can't beat the first stage!!

No wonder why this game isn't as popular as its succesors. What happened Technosoft?

EDIT: The original game was released for the Sharp X1 and this one is a port of it. I've read somewhere that the original has more colors and the gameplay is twice as smooth as this one. But... I'll still say that the game sucks regardless if I played the Sharp X1 version or not.
