On Cambodia’s southern coast, Lina* is using photography to document the realities of climate change in her fishing community, from unpredictable weather and falling fish catches to coastal erosion, mangrove loss and community-led resilience.
Through the EmPower: Women for Climate-Resilient Societies photography project, implemented by UN Women and the United Nations Environment Programme with support from the Governments of Germany, New Zealand, Sweden and Switzerland, women are gaining the tools and skills to document their experiences, make their realities visible and strengthen their voices in climate discussions.
For Lina, becoming a photographer means showing what is changing, what is at risk and what communities are doing to protect their future.
“My message to women in other villages who may not yet have the courage to show the impacts they face is this: take photos and join community discussions to share what you are seeing.”

![Youth Dialogue [Vox Pop] | UN Women Cambodia
In December last year, young people from across Cambodia came together to speak out about technology-facilitated gender-based violence and its impact on their lives.
Through open conversations, youth shared what TFGBV looks like, from online harassment and hate speech to image-based abuse, and why it causes serious harm to mental health, safety, livelihoods, and dignity, especially for women, girls, and LGBTIQA+ people.
They also shared what needs to change: stronger laws and enforcement, safer online behaviour, shifts in mindset, and collective responsibility from individuals, families, communities, institutions, and platforms.
These are youth voices calling for a safer digital space for everyone.
