On 11 March 2026, the UN Women Knowledge & Partnerships Centre, with support from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, hosted the International Women's Day 2026 commemoration in Seoul. Under the theme "Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls," experts gathered to share concrete strategies for achieving true gender equality.

Jung Hee SHIN | Chair, Gender Equality Committee, Korea Sport & Olympic Committee
Ms. Jung Hee Shin began her career as a field hockey player in 1969 and has since played a key role in advancing gender equality in Korean sports as an international umpire, administrator, and global sports leader. She started administrative work with the Korea Hockey Association in 1978, earned her International Hockey Umpire qualification in 1981, and held leadership positions such as Vice President of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, Board Member of the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, and Deputy Chef de Mission for the Republic of Korea at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
On the international stage, she served three consecutive terms as Vice President of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), making significant contributions over her tenure. In 2021, she joined the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Women in Sport Committee, where she has worked to promote gender equality and diversity in sports. In 2025, she was appointed Chair of the Gender Equality Committee of the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, focusing on driving institutional reforms. Recognized for her contributions, she received the Sports Merit Award at the 2021 Korea Sports Awards. She currently serves as a Specially Appointed Professor at the Olympic Council of Asia Graduate School of Sustainability and ESG at Kookmin University, where she works on advancing international sports governance and gender equality leadership with future generations

지난 11월14일, 유엔여성기구 지식·파트너십 센터는 ‘유엔여성기구 민간 포럼: 모두의 지속가능한 미래를 위한 돌봄 서비스 혁신과 투자’를 개최했습니다.
