In this build series, I am working with Cliff Hall, a toolmaker from New Zealand. Cliff has invented a thread milling attachment for a knee mill that allows for cutting both internal and external threads of both metric and imperial pitches. It can be mounted on the rear edge of the XY table of a Bridgeport style mill or it can lie flat on the table of a horizontal mill like a Cincinnati, and it is entirely manually operated. In this episode:
* Introduction to the combined spindle/leadscrew design which forms the main rotating assembly of the Threadexpress headstock.
* Machining the split aluminium lap for the leadscrew.
* Machining the rough turned spindle/leadscrew to dimensions.
* Single point turning the 7TPI thread for the leadscrew
