Today we are checking out two more maps made by Human and even though they couldn't be more different from each other they had one thing in common: A very interesting twist and concept that you don't necessarily see coming and that gives the maps a lot of very interesting potential and just a theme that's cool and refreshing to see! Absolute peak creativity as always from Human and just interesting ideas that never get old!
I got the first mod send by the very creative and talented U_0001 without any real explanation or description what it is even about. Basically all I knew is that something is customized and that the mod only goes until the end of Rictusempra and that was pretty much it. And honestly, that was probably for the best since I have to be honest it would have been very very difficult to describe this absolute trip that this map has send us on in words...
From what I understood the idea is basically that Harry gets into a pretty severe accident and from that point on he is essentially dreaming/hallucinating everything that happens in the mod and in the world around him including the Willow and Rictusempra level. So the world looks very much familiar and the same as always but you can sort of see reality breaking and becoming weird in some segments which is really awesome but surreal to witness!
Human has really outdone himself with this map because even though the themes for it are pretty dark and rather sad the creativity and the details with which the maps where build are just amazing! I could have and would have loved to play a full mod with this concept and maybe there is a slim chance he picks this up again one day. You just never had any clue what expects you behind the next corner and what kind of weird and crazy trip you would fall into next.
Just a super cool journey and great adventure, once more he has managed to make it feel like playing the game again for the very first time! I loved being on board for this ride and would honestly rate this mod very very highly, since it's not really finished though it feels weird to use the traditional scale out of 10.

For the second map of the video it has been a couple of years now since the last 24h Challenge that Human did with his mapbuilding, the idea behind those is usually that he takes exactly 24h to build a map and it has to be finished and in a playable state after that time! So obviously those kind of maps aren't as pretty or as polished as a lot of the other custom maps you are seeing these days which I have to say is honestly not necessarily a bad thing. It's nice and refreshing to see a more simpler approach again between all of the high quality maps we are getting nowadays.
And the best part about it is that this entire map is basically a concept map. There is a certain horror theme and the feeling that something is offf and uneasy that goes through this entire map. And it once more reminded me of how desperately I would want a full scale horror Harry Potter custom map. But this 24h Challenge version already serves as a very interesting appetizer for how a horror map could look and it has a lot of very interesting ideas and design choices to really convey this feeling of something bad happening at any point now.
Overall there wasn't a ton of gameplay in this due to the time limitations but what did exist was honestly pretty enjoyable and entertaining to play through even though I was often quite clueless to what the hell is going on. And the final plottwist at the end was certainly unexpected and made for a very nice cutscene and fitting end to this map. You can always count on Human to build some maps that are a bit out there but also mega creative and always a blast to play through so big shoutouts to him for yet another successful 24h Challenge!
