The Citadel Theatre in Edmonton is presenting THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy about two society bachelors who masquerade as a man called Ernest. However, their game is put to the test when they spend a weekend in the country with two women, who don’t know their real identity. The duo is forced to keep up the charade with hilarious consequences.

Jackie Maxwell sets the stage in directing this classic story of misadventure and mayhem. She joined Tony King on Thoroughfare to talk about the modern implications of taking on the persona of another and why, in this era of modern technology, Oscar Wilde’s play is timeless!
