The Qijia Q1 from RobotGym is a robotic caregiver designed to assist elderly users at home and in care facilities. Built for semi-dependent, dependent, or socially isolated seniors, the robot helps reduce caregiver workload while improving safety, comfort, and daily independence.
Qijia Q1 uses an omnidirectional mobile base to navigate tight indoor spaces like bedrooms and bathrooms. It features a force-controlled robotic arm and a dual-form body that can switch between a humanoid helper mode and a wheelchair-style people-mover mode.
In manipulation mode, the robot can hand over objects, assist with standing, turning over, feeding, and basic daily tasks. In wheelchair mode, it safely transports users while providing lifting support.
The system combines onboard AI with remote teleoperation, allowing autonomous task handling while human operators step in during complex or emergency situations. Safety features include precision force control, fall detection, emergency stop systems, and voice-based interaction.
Currently in pilot use at nursing homes, Qijia Q1 is targeting broader deployment around 2026.
