For years, The Nature Conservancy has been tackling pollution, habitat loss and flooding throughout the Mississippi River Basin. But we don’t have one system to measure our results.
That’s where the “sentinel system” comes in. TNC and our technical advisors have mapped out existing monitoring stations that are due for an upgrade, and we’ve identified the gaps where new stations are needed. Now, the design is ready to roll.
Next step? Securing the funding needed to create the system – and make sure it can watch over our river for the long haul.
