The Hawkeye Firefly Split 4K FPV recording camera is designed for RC planes and drones but, given its high latency, is perhaps more suited to fixed-wing flying or camera-quads than racing quads. Unfortunately, the microphone on some early units is not firmly attached and is able to float around in the breeze. In my case, this caused the failure of the camera just moments before it was due to take to the air.
This camera has great potential but is not without problems:
- configuration is frustrating with the onscreen menus not responding reliably to presses on the 5-button keypad.
- latency is too high for racing or freestyle drones
- a loose mic can kill the board
On the plus side:
- 4K is a great option for a split-type camera
- very easy installation
- PCB is conformal coated
Bottom line... if the replacement works then this board represents pretty fair value at GeekBuying's prices.
