Papplewick Pumping Station has been saved! 🎉
The ornate pumping station, built between 1882 and 1886 in the Gothic Revival style, provided clean water to Nottingham until it was decommissioned in 1969.
It remains the only pumping station in England to retain all its original features, including the machinery and the reservoir.
A major £500,000 restoration project has been completed at Papplewick Pumping Station, thanks to grants from ourselves and @aceagrams's Museum Estate and Development Fund, allowing it to be removed from our Heritage At Risk Register.
