Romania is a hot spot of affordable travel destinations for European tourists. It's a hidden gem. Great food, better people, and truly breathtaking views.
In this video, we start on the Transbucegi-- a mountain road that is seriously beautiful. We found an inexplicable building that looks like a cartoon (traditional Romanian architecture?) and had some home made wine & tochitura. Perfect food and drink for a foggy mountain day.
From there, we headed to Craiova to see our friends Ana-Maria and Cristian. Their son was celebrating his first birthday, and so naturally they skewed an entire pig and hired a DJ. It was a fantastic party.
The next day we were able to hang out at Ana-Maria's bunica's farm. I really want to be a farmer one day. They make it look so easy. Animals all around, veggies growing, and a big table for us to eat hand-made, farm-fresh food. Seriously, I want to buy a small farm in Romania one day.
Lastly, we went to Orsova, which is absolutely a MUST VISIT TRAVEL DESTINATION! The cliffs along the Danube, the water glistening in the sun, and the sunrise was to die for! To be fair, we have been to Orsova before, but we had to go back. The place is truly fantastic.
