This circuit is now a Forever Runner!
24/7, 365, it works in the day and at night, using just a 1F supercap for power storage. The circuit sits in ambient light, no direct Sun and yet charges up the cap, as well as running the circuit. It flashes its twin green LED's every few seconds, all the time.
The creator of this circuit had it running 24/7, 365 on a 100F supercap. The idea of this vid, is to do the same but with a much smaller 1F supercap.
As an update (late July 2025) the circuit continues to run all the time, every day. It only needs the light from the room to continue working, whether that be ambient light from outside or the room light in the evening. The frequency of flashes changes, once every 2 seconds or up to once every 30 seconds, seemingly randomly!
My changes are:
1F supercap replaces 100F
2x 1000uH inductors replace 2x 330uH
4.7M resistor replaces 150K
1N4148 replaces 1N4007
