The Blanco Bowling Club, Blanco (2015)
There's a kind of bowling you won't find outside a handful of small German communities in the Texas Hill Country, and the Blanco Bowling Club is one of the last places keeping it alive. Instead of ten pins in a triangle, you get nine pins set up in a diamond, with bonus points if you can leave the middle one standing.
Opened in 1948, this place was part cafe, part bowling alley, and part town living room. Regulars showed up for cinnamon buns and glazed donuts in the morning and stuck around for homemade meringue pie and a few frames in the evening. It's the kind of small town tradition that never made the history books, just the memories of everyone who ever rolled a ball down those lanes.
