Today I’m turning my giant gel prints into finished mixed media paintings on canvas—and this is where everything begins to change. The prints were only the beginning. Now it’s time to take them further. In this video, I’m working on a larger canvas, pulling out the easel, and transforming these richly textured gel prints into bold finished artworks. I begin by selecting my favourite prints and arranging them directly onto the canvas. From there, the process deepens.
I start adding paint, refining shapes, adjusting balance, and responding to what the artwork needs as it evolves. This is one of the things I love most about mixed media—the artwork reveals itself step by step.
What began as a print becomes a painting. What felt finished becomes the starting point for something new.
