For months, we've been preparing to test the newly-upgraded human-occupied submersible Alvin and a new robot called Deep Venture. While those vehicles are in sea trials off of Bermuda, they'll encounter MBARI's long-range AUV Pyxis after its 1300-km journey from Woods Hole, MA. That's what it takes to explore Earth's final frontier—and come back with answers from the deep.
