The sermons at The Mantle Conference need to be stopped. In this video, we examine S.Y. Younger’s preaching and the larger pattern of hype, shouting, emotional manipulation, questionable declarations, and weak biblical interpretation throughout the conference.
Passion is not the problem. The problem is when performance replaces sound doctrine and crowd reactions become more important than faithfully explaining Scripture. A preacher can be loud, energetic, and entertaining while still mishandling the Bible.
The church does not need more sermons built around catchphrases, dramatic music, and manufactured moments. We need preaching that clearly explains the text, points people to Christ, and produces genuine repentance and spiritual maturity.
