If you want to make more money on your farm, you have exactly three options. Not five, not ten. Three: sell to more customers, sell higher-value products to the same customers, or sell more volume. Every strategy, every conference tip, every new idea fits into one of those buckets.
Most farmers pull lever three first β more beds, more crops, more volume. It's the most expensive lever and the most complex. Scaling a low-margin operation just scales the problem.
The order matters. Lever two (higher value per customer) improves revenue without adding complexity β shift your crop mix toward higher-margin crops, add value to what you already sell, position for premium pricing. Lever one (more customers) only makes sense when your current customers are maxed out and your fulfillment can handle more. Lever three (more volume) only wins when you're already efficient and already sold out.
Three questions to answer this week: What's my average revenue per customer per week? What's my average revenue per bed? Am I consistently selling out? Those three numbers tell you which lever to pull.
