I recently purchased the Theodore DVDs from Sweden. Apart from having 4 different language tracks to entertain, the footage is definitely a step up from what's been released in North America on home video (the bit rate is kind of low, but still).
Obviously, being European DVDs, the NTSC 60i Theodore footage had to be converted to PAL 50i. What I did here is use Avisynth to convert the 50i footage to 60p. In the end, about 95% of the motion is restored to how it should be. The main artifacts as a consequence of two motion interpolation passes are the transition frames between shots. Not much I can do about that atm. I imagine an algorithm exists to eliminate/reduce the transition frames. If I can get something like that to work, expect an updated version of this. Audio is from the Theodore's Whistle VHS with some minor EQ adjustments.
