I was in high school when The Weekndโs first EPs were released, and I remember being immediately impacted by his debut single. The contrast between his smooth tone and dark, moody production and melodies is something that Iโve often tried to explore using the cello. Over the years, Iโve been inspired not only by the pureness and honesty of his vocal style but also by his ability to tell a story with each release that is both fresh and familiar.
With โAfter Hoursโ coming out this year and being such a culmination of his music so far, I wanted to arrange this medley to reflect on the music that Iโve grown with and capture its evolution up to this point.
