Content notice: This lecture includes mature discussions about sexuality, addiction, and sexual trauma. The content is educational and focused on healing and recovery.
In this lecture, Tim explores how complex trauma impacts our relationship with intimacy, attachment, and sex. Drawing from decades of experience working with addiction and trauma recovery, he explains how unmet childhood needs can distort sexual development, boundaries, and connection in adulthood.
The talk looks at sexuality through three lenses: culture, recovery, and Complex Trauma. It examines how sex can become entangled with shame, emotional regulation, loneliness, and addiction, and why these patterns often lead to relapse or unhealthy relationships.
Tim also outlines what healthy intimacy looks like, how emotional and relational safety come before physical connection, and why healing requires learning to meet attachment needs in healthy, non-sexual ways.
This lecture is intended for adults and for educational purposes only.
