Construction Notes:
The original Ultimate Ball is a two layer sphere built from 150 double hexagon rings and 12 pentagon rings, for a total of 1860 magnets.
The basic principle of my expanded versions is adding double hexagon ring 'spacers' of reverse polarity between the hexagon rings of the original design. A modification to the structure of the pentagonal vertices was also required to achieve the most sphere-like curvature.
Large version: 290 double hexagon rings, 12 pentagon rings, 240 extra gap closing magnets for a modified vertex structure, total 3780 magnets.
Huge version: 570 double hexagon rings, 12 pentagon rings, 180 extra magnets for the modified vertex structure, total 7080 magnets.
The sphericity of the huge version is not as good, but still close enough to be interesting I think.
