A variety of 8 large polyhedrons that are all made from interconnected quasi rhombic dodecahedron subunits. I call them 'quasi' because a true rhombic dodecahedron has 12 completely flat diamond faces, but these ones have slightly concave ones, actually composed of 24 trapezoidal faces, but they still illustrate the way the rhombic dodecahedron fills 3D space and can form many different geometric shapes.
I built 51 inner edge 4 quasi rhombic dodecahedron subunits using almost my entire magnet collection, 12 fully reinforced using 480 balls each, with a 3rd internal layer of 12 × 3 × 2 = 72 balls, the other 39 used 432 balls each, only reinforced top and bottom during construction, with just 3 × 4 × 2 = 24 balls used in the innermost 3rd layer. Several of these builds are made from all 51 units, have a total magnet count of 22608 neodymium magnetic balls (5mm diameter), and weigh over 11kg.
