Sorry if this edit has literally no emotion whatsoever. When I was editing it, I felt numb altogether, like I was going through the motions of editing but not really? I don’t know how to explain it. I guess I felt distant from it all, but I guess the numbing feeling kinda works for what I wanted to do with this edit. I wanted this edit to feel empty and tragic, mimicking how I felt about the ending of the skywalker saga. I don’t think I really did it justice though.

I haven’t been as vocal about how I truly felt about how they wrapped up the saga, and honestly, I really disliked how they handled the skywalker family. I think the main thing that upsets me is that none of them got closure. All of them died, and we were supposed to believe that they passed on in peace. Just, the movie just left off on this feeling of emptiness. At least, for me it did. It just didn’t feel right.

I also felt that the song worked really well for what I was trying to do. The vocals and everything, even though I don’t know French, it just sounds so tragic, heavy, burdened with grief. It’s just, every time I hear the song, it feels like I'm grieving something, or feeling someone else’s pain, grief, and sorrow. The song is about the sun, how the sun overlooks, watches. It reminds me of a quote from Leia, how she says "Hope is like the sun. If you only believe it when you see it you'll never make it through the night." The lyrics say "The sun is less strong; as soon as you slumber, it sleeps." Slumber, as in the death of the skywalkers, is when light and hope is snuffed out.

It seems like a burden to be a skywalker, to be a part of the family bloodline because the family is burdened with so much tragedy. It’s an “almost” kind of tragedy. Just when those who lost their way find their way again, it’s too late. They almost had happiness, almost were reunited with their loved ones that had faith in them. They were this close to finally coming back to their true selves, but the moment they did, it was ripped from them.
